**Document Capture Widget**

### **Introduction**[](#introducción) <a href="#introduccion" id="introduccion"></a>

SelphID is a Widget that allows you to capture and validate a user's Identity document.

As a result, the document's authenticity is checked using algorithms and security protocols. All extracted data can be consulted at any time from Facephi Platform.

### **Requirements and installation**[](#requisitos-e-instalación) <a href="#requisitos-e-instalacion" id="requisitos-e-instalacion"></a>

The Widget is compatible with iOS 13 devices or later.

### **Capture a document**[](#capturar-un-documento) <a href="#capturar-un-documento" id="capturar-un-documento"></a>

Once in the Widget, a text appears that gives you instructions for the step to perform. In this case, your camera has been activated and you must focus on the front of your document. The document must fit within the frame (3), without the edges of the document sticking out of the frame. If the lighting and sharpness conditions are adequate, the photo will be taken automatically.

If you have any doubts or difficulties with this step, tap the information button (2) and a tutorial will open that can help you.

To exit the Widget without capturing, press icon (1).

The Widget will show you in real time whether the capture could be made, or whether there has been a problem.

* **If the capture was not performed (1)**, retry this step until the Widget takes the photo. The information button or the error diagnostics can be very helpful for this step.
* **If the capture was performed successfully (2)**, a confirmation message will appear. Repeat the same step, this time with the back of your document.

*Optional screen. It can be enabled from Settings.*

The Widget has captured the document, and this preview screen is displayed. Here you must check that the document is fully visible and that the data are legible.

If the photo is blurry, or there is data covered or cut off, we recommend that you tap the button (2) to retry the photo. A poor capture can lead to a poor interpretation of the data and having to repeat the process again.

If the photo is sharp and the data are easy to read, tap the button (3) to continue with the next step.

To exit and not continue, tap the icon (1). Skipping this step will take you to the previous step.

{% endcolumn %}

{% column %}
Now capture the back of the document. The steps and instructions are the same as for capturing the front of the document.

Once the photo has been taken, you will need to check the capture preview to validate the photo or retake it. If it is validated, you will have completed the Document Capture process.
