IAD (Injection Attack Detection)

What does this product solve?

The IAD Facephi's (Injection Attack Detection) includes advanced security controls aimed at detecting and preventing injection attacks during facial Biometric Verification processes.

Its objective is to ensure that the biometric capture comes from a legitimate and trusted source, preventing fraud attempts through the use of manipulated videos, virtual cameras, digital replays, or synthetic content.

Operation of the IAD module against injections

Facephi's IAD acts on the client and server side, integrating specific controls to:

  • Detect untrusted capture environments

  • Identify manipulations of the video or image Flow

  • Analyze metadata and capture signals generated during the biometric process

  • Evaluate injection and presentation attempts before validating identity

During facial capture, the component Selphi IAD generates a encrypted package (IAD bundle) that contains images and security metadata. This package is then analyzed by the platform to determine whether there is an injection attack attempt.

In Facephi, the IAD module is complemented by behavioral biometrics, adding an additional layer of security based on contextual analysis and user interaction patterns. This integration makes it possible to strengthen fraud detection, assess risk continuously, and ensure more secure and reliable Identity Verification processes.

Integration

IAD is integrated using Facephi's standard mechanisms:
